USCG Auxiliary State of Hawaii Addendum Class

The new law effective in Nov 2014 will require all boat operators to possess a proof of having taken a NASBLA approved safe boating class with some exceptions: Licensed Captains, non-powered boats small boats, PWCs, canoes, kayaks, etc.

On this Sunday November 24th 2013, at 11 am The USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 18 is offering the State of Hawaii Addendum class to all HYC members and visitors that are safe boating card and certificate holders. If you possess a valid card About Boating Safely, America’s Boating Class, BSS, or SSS, certification from the USPS or Auxiliary we may be able to upgrade your training to meet the new Hawaii State Requirements with proof of a NASBLA certified class.

The State Requirement Class is in addition to your previous class training. Upon passing the exam you can present your card for DLNR stamp and Lamination.

A small fee of $5 dollars to upgrade current cards and $10 to replace missing cards (with a valid certificate) will be requested before upgrading.

Note: If you need a full certification class we will be offering the full NASBLA certified class “About Boating Safely” with the incorporated State Requirements in December 1st, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.  2013 the cost for the full class is 40.00 for non-members and 20.00 for (HYC) members. Refresher classes are free w/ availability.
