Verne died peacefully at his home on June 22, 2009 at 2 PM. He had passed on before his 81st birthday. Verne was born on June 23, 1928. His services will be held at the Hawaii Yacht Club and will be announced as soon as we get the information.
Verne was Commodore of HYC for two years - 1992-1993. He also was Vice Commodore in 1991. Among other achievements at HYC he held the position of Port Captain for 9 years, Board of Governor for 3 years, Membership Chairman for 3 years, By-Laws Chairman for 5 years plus the original webmaster for the Hawaii Yacht Club website. He has been a member of Hawaii Yacht Club since 1976. Verne was voted in by the membership as an Honorary Life member.
